Wild Girl Book Review

Posted on January 5, 2020January 8, 2020 by Donk

A guest post by my own wild girl.

Wild Girl: How to have Incredible Outdoor Adventures. By Helen Skelton.

Who knew an adventurous former Blue Peter presenter could write such a fabulous book!? This book has such a great taste for adventure and inspires me to go wild. It isn’t just the book that’s ace, the author (Helen Skelton) is brave, determined and tough. She will never give up, no matter what. From kayaking 2,000 miles down the Amazon River and getting horrible blisters to cycling across Antarctica to the South Pole and getting diarrhoea in a tent, she still stays strong. Among all this she has set many world records.

Even though most of the adventures are way too extreme for almost everyone, the book gives you some different, more safe adventures to try. For example instead of climbing the highest mountain in Great Britain (Ben Nevis) you could try abseiling, rock climbing or walking up a smaller peak.

So what have I learnt from the book? To always try my best, never give up and I can do anything I put mind to. Everything has its risks and life comes with a warning light but don’t be afraid to go wild, nothing is as scary as it seems!

I love the book and I rate it five stars out of five.

Hope you enjoyed! Goodbye!
